I echo Melissa’s thoughts, and also would add that a roll of washi tape was THE BEST road trip “toy” ever when we drove our 3-year-old 15 hours to visit grandma. ;) She made balls and letters and patterns and art, and each roll was inexpensive / didn’t take up a lot of space. I still carry it in the diaper bag for plane rides!
