I found this great list of #ownvoices books about Thanksgiving from a Native American perspective. Perfect for the color your bookshelves challenge! https://yourparentingmojo.com/blog/thanksgivingbooks/
Rachel AllredParticipantWe love the Duck and Goose series by Tad Hill! The Halloween one, Duck & Goose Honk! Quack! Boo! is so fun!
Rachel AllredParticipantI love the book lists from the blog What We Do All Day! https://www.whatdowedoallday.com/picture-books-gratitude/
Rachel AllredParticipantI love this!! So important to just learn how to be! I’m so bad at just sitting still. I’ll have to give this a try sometime when I get that rarest of rare double naps.
Rachel AllredParticipantI just read about this approach in another book! The author talked about how questions are a child’s way of expressing love and trust and their way of starting a conversation. So when the author’s child asked what’s that when pointing to an elephant or something else, she’d tell a story and her child would come and listen and relax, really seeking relationship over answers at times. I need to remember this!! Such a good way of looking at things!
Rachel AllredParticipantI love this thought of teaching our kids to foster their curiosity!!
Rachel AllredParticipantI really love this mindset shift!
Rachel AllredParticipantMy favorites right now are Pantsuit Politics, The Simple Show with Tsh Oxenrider, and the Next Right Thing. Shout out to the Lazy Genius, Going Scared with Jessica Honegger, and For the Love with Jen Hatmaker.
Rachel AllredParticipantMy 4 yo loves The Princess in Black!
